Junior GL Accountant

Purpose of the role: 

This role is responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

While doing these duties, the accountant ensures that it is in compliance with the professional legal practices and standards, and also with the organization's policies and procedures.

Your responsibilities: 

• follow SOP’s (given by the BPO’s)
• calculate & prepare journal entries
• complete general ledger operations
• manage the monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
• processing revaluation
• support reporting to HFM
• draw up monthly financial reports
• assistance in preparation of analysis of accounts as requested
• assist with year-end closings
• assist with internal and external audit requests
• perform account reconciliations and analyse accounts
• support standardization efforts
• ensure timely processing of assigned tasks in accordance with Closing Calendar
• ensure manual entries executed on time and correctly within the period in the ERP ensure BS reconciliations are done efficiently, required adjustments are resolved 

This role will suit you if you have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 0-2 years in Accounting / Finance
• knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• knowledge of finance principles
• knowledge of financial reporting is an advantage
• previous experience of general accounting is an advantage
• experience in SAP accounting software is an advantage
• fluency in English, Other European language is an advantage
